Neurodiversity & Faith Formation

As ministry leaders learn more about neurodiversity as an inherent part of God’s good creation, we need to think critically about “traditional” forms of faith formation that we’ve been handed. Listening to and led by neurodivergent folx, we can imagine and develop more accessible and effective ways of forming people to live in the love of Jesus. In this workshop, we’ll talk together about how to create and advocate for generative learning environments for our neurodivergent neighbors, including those with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, dyslexia, intellectual disabilities, and highly sensitive people, among others, particularly in the context of faith formation in a church community or faith-based organization.
